The third-generation Jeep Wrangler model, known as "JK" by the digits in its Vehicle Identification Number, made its debut for the 2007 model-year. The Jeep JK was not originally equipped with a service reminder, or oil change alert. However, Jeep introduced the feature for the 2008 model-year. The "Change Oil" alert is likely to come on approximately every 3000 miles. Changing the oil will not reset or turn off the alert; it must be manually reset.
Step 1 Put your Jeep in "Park" and turn off the engine.
Step 2 Turn the ignition to the "On" notch, without starting the engine.
Step 3 Push the gas pedal to the floor three times (within ten seconds).
Turn the ignition to "Off," and then start the engine to verify that the alert is turned off.
TIPS: If the alert does not disappear, repeat the procedure.
