How to Change the Clock in a Honda Civic

The Honda Civic has a long and storied history dating back to 1972. With so many models, it would be difficult to describe changing the clock for each. The seventh and eighth generation of the Honda Civic have radio-integrated clocks, as do most other modern vehicles. Because this clock is built into your radio, the clock can be set using the radio controls. You may need to change your clock for daylight saving time, or if your battery has been replaced (this often resets the radio).

Setting the Clock in the Seventh-Generation Civic (2001 to 2005)

Step 1 - Insert your key and turn it to ignition position one (accessory mode).

Step 2 - Press and hold the button labeled "Scan/Rpt." While holding the button, press and hold "Preset 4" to advance the hour display. Release both buttons when the correct hour appears.

Press and hold the button labeled "Scan/Rpt" again, and then press and hold "Preset 5" to advance the minute setting. Release both buttons when the desired time is reached.

Changing the Clock in the Eighth-Generation Civic (2006 to 2010)

Step 1 - Press and hold the "Clock" button (this is also the "AM" button) until the display flashes.

Step 2 - Press "Preset 1" to advance to the desired hour, and then press "Preset 2" to advanced to the desired minute setting.

Press the "Clock" button to exit programming mode and save your changes.
