The 1985 Dodge Caravan uses a 2057 bulb in the taillight assembly. Replace both bulbs as soon as you notice one has failed. Buy replacement bulbs from an auto parts retailer and change the bulbs yourself. The taillight assembly is removable to access and replace the taillight bulbs when necessary.

Replace Taillight
Open the rear lift gate of the Caravan. Remove the screws from each of the four corners of the rear light assembly with a Phillips screwdriver.
Slide the light assembly out of the van. Grab the taillight bulb and pull it out of the assembly.
Pull the bulb out of the socket. Push the new bulb straight into place. Insert the bulb into the taillight assembly.
Install the taillight assembly and secure it with the screws in each corner. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Repeat the process on the opposite side.
Close the rear lift gate and test the new bulbs.
