Expect the "Change Oil" light to appear in your 2001 Chevrolet Venture's message approximately once every 5,000 miles. The message center is located in the bottom corner of the speedometer. Bring your Venture in to have the minivan's oil changed, then reset the "Change Oil" system to make the light turn off. You can easily do this yourself at home.
Step 1 - Insert the 2001 Venture's key into the ignition. Turn the key to "Run." Do not crank the Venture's engine.
Step 2 - Push the "Trip" button to toggle through the message center selections. You'll see the message change each time you press the button. Stop pushing it when "Oil" appears.
Step 3 - Press and hold the "Trip" button for five seconds. Release the button.
Switch the ignition off, then turn it back to "Run." The "Change Oil" message should be gone.
