Oil Pan

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Place a suitable container underneath the oil pan drain plug (6730). Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the engine oil to drain into the container. After the oil has drained out of the oil pan (6675) install the oil pan drain plug. Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 29-39 Nm (22-29 lb-ft).

3. NOTE: Cover the screw-type jack with a shop rag to prevent damage to the crankshaft pulley (6312). Position a screw-type jack at the crankshaft pulley to support the engine (6007).

4. Remove the front engine support insulator through bolt.

Installation

1. NOTE: Ensure that the oil pan and engine mating surfaces are cleaned of any old sealant.

Install new oil pan seals. Apply Silicone Gasket and Sealant F6AZ-19562-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-AG to the oil pan seals as shown.

2. Apply a bead of Loctite Ultra Grey 599 silicone sealant or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G320-A2 to the oil pan as shown.

3. Install the oil pan on the cylinder blocks (6010). Tighten the 18 oil pan bolts in the sequence shown to 7-8 Nm (62-70 lb-in). Download File PDF
