INSTALLATION
If the roof molding is equipped with a plastic cap, go to step 1; otherwise, go to step 3.
With plastic cap
1. Remove the plastic cap from the left roof molding as
shown.
2. Remove the nut from the stud bolt.
3. Remove the left roof molding as shown.
4. Open the tailgate. Using a plastic trim tool, release the left tailgate hinge cover extension as shown.
NOTE: Do not remove the tailgate hinge cover extension.
5. Close the tailgate halfway. Gently pry up on the rear edge of the left tailgate hinge cover, and remove it as shown. Do not reuse the left tailgate hinge cover.
6. Remove the two clips from the two stud bolts on the roof.
7. Install the left tailgate hinge cover onto the stud bolt.
8. Open the tailgate. Install the left tailgate hinge cover extension to the left tailgate hinge cover with one clip and one pin.
9. While wearing eye protection, use a reciprocating saw to cut the left roof molding at the measurement shown. Remove any burrs.
If the vehicle is equipped with the roof molding cap that has a removable clip, continue with step 10; if not, go to step 11.
With removable clip
10. Remove the clip, and install the new clip into the left roof molding cap as shown.
NOTE: Make sure to install the new clip in the correct orientation.
11. Install the left roof molding onto the stud bolt.
If the roof molding is equipped with a plastic cap, go to step 12; otherwise, go to step 14.
With plastic cap
12. Install the nut to the stud bolt. Torque the nut to 7 lb-ft (10 N·m).
13. Install the plastic cap to the left roof molding with two retaining tabs.
14. Install the left roof rail base to the three stud bolts with three 6 mm TORX nuts. Make sure the roof rail base is installed in the correct position.
Torque the 6 mm TORX nuts to 5.1-9 lb-ft (6.9-11.8 N·m). Download File PDF
