How to Replace the Seat Belt on a 1988 Chevrolet Blazer S10

If you need to replace the seat belts in your 1988 S10 Blazer you should do so before you take your vehicle out on the road. You can pick up replacement seat belts at your local auto store. The work required to replace the seat belts is fairly simple and takes a few minutes.

Tools Used: Wrench set, Screwdriver set, Replacement seat belt

Replace the Seat Belt

Follow the seat belt to locate the casing at the side of the vehicle. Use a screwdriver to remove the casing to gain access to the seat belt connector.

Remove the mounting bolt on the side of the seat belt with a wrench. This will allow you to access the connections for both of the seat belt straps.

Remove the bolts which hold the shoulder harness in place. Loosen the bolt on the other side of the seat belt to completely remove the harness.

Insert the new shoulder harness following the removal steps in reverse. Remove the bolt on the other side of the seat belt to remove the anchor side.

Remove the anchor side of the seat belt and insert the new one following the removal steps. Ensure you put the seat belt on the right way round so that the seat belt clip will go in to the connector. Test the seat belt to ensure it is working correctly before taking your vehicle out on the road.
