How to Clone Remote Controls

Cloning a keyless entry remote to your car is a simple task that, if you know what you're doing, takes you less than five minutes. The most important step is to have your unprogrammed remote ready to catch the keyless auto signal from your programmed remote. To do this, your car and programmed remote need to be in programming mode to send out the original keyless entry signal for cloning.

Step 1 - Close all the doors on the vehicle. Open the driver's door, press the "Unlock" button on driver's door panel while the door is open, then insert the key into the ignition.

Step 2 - Turn the key in the ignition from the "Off" position to the "On" position eight times within 10 seconds with the eighth time ending in the "On" position. The doors then lock and unlock to confirm that the car has entered programming mode.

Step 3 - Press any button on the programmed keyless entry remote. You must do this within 20 seconds of the beginning of the programing mode. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the remote is in programming mode and is ready to be cloned. Press any button on all of the remotes you are cloning. Each time a remote is programmed to the car, the doors lock and unlock to confirm the remote has been programed and you have another 20 seconds to program the next remote.

Turn the ignition off. The doors then automatically lock and unlock to confirm that the car has exited the programming mode.
