If the window motor in your 1990 Buick LeSabre malfunctions, odds are you're stuck with a window somewhere in between up and down. The motor is responsible for providing the mechanical energy necessary to move the window glass, which means without it you can't adjust the window height. While you might find a way to push the glass to the top and tape it in place, the only real solution is a motor replacement. If you have basic automotive-repair experience, remove and replace the window motor in your LeSabre in about an hour.

Remove & Replace Window Motor
Pry the window switch out of the door panel with the tip of the trim tool. Remove the switch from the wiring harness by hand and set it aside.
Remove the screws from the LeSabre's door panel with the Phillips screwdriver and set them in one place.
Lift the door panel upward 1 inch and then pull it off the door. Set the panel out of the way so it cannot incur damage during the rest of the repair.
Lift the LeSabre's window glass to the top of the window channel and tape it to the top of the window frame with packing tape. Curl the ends of the tape back on itself for easy removal.
Unplug the body wiring connector from the window motor by hand. Unbolt the motor from the door support bracket and the window regulator with your socket set.
Pull the old motor out of the door by hand. Insert the new motor and bolt it to the door support bracket and window regulator with the socket set.
Plug the wiring connector into the new window motor. Reinstall the door panel in reverse of removal. Peel the packing tape of the glass before operating the window.
