Items you will need: Oil drain pan, Ratchet, 1/2-inch socket, 2 1/2 qts. engine oil
The Yamaha Timberwolf is a mid-size ATV with a 250 cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine. The ATV uses standard four-stroke engine oil and holds 2 1/2 qts. in the crankcase. On the bottom of the crankcase is a 1/2-inch nut that is the drain plug. This ATV does not have an oil filter because the oil needs to be changed about every 15 to 20 hours of riding, according to the owner’s manual.
Park the Timberwolf on level ground and allow the engine to cool. Place the oil drain pan under the drain nut.
Remove the drain nut using the ratchet and socket. Drain the oil and then replace and tighten the drain nut.
Remove the black, oil cap from the side of the engine with your hand. Pour the new oil into the engine and replace the oil cap.
