How to Connect an iPod to a Honda CRV

The Honda CRV is a combination car and miniature SUV. These vehicles provide gas millage on par with larger cars while still offering the room of an SUV. If you own a Honda CRV, and are like many individuals, you may probably have a large variety of your music stored on an iPod. Luckily, with all Honda CRVs, it is possible to connect the iPod with the sound system and play the music over the car's speakers.

Step 1 - Inspect the stereo system's control panel in your Honda CRV. Look to see if there is a small auxiliary port anywhere on the device. This port is going to be the size of a headphone port you see on MP3 players. If there is a port, it means you can directly connect your iPod into the stereo system. Connect a 3.5mm dual jack cable into the headphone port on your iPod. The other end of the cable is plugged into the auxiliary port. Switch your stereo to "AUX," and you can listen to music played from your iPod.

Step 2 - Insert an iPod car tuner into the cigarette lighter port of the car if your Honda CRV stereo system does not have an auxiliary port.

Step 3 - Plug the iPod into the car tuner and power the iPod on. The car tuner is going to automatically power on when it is inserted into the cigarette lighter.

Step 4 - Switch the car stereo system of your Honda CRV to "FM," and change the tuner until you find a station that is nothing but static or dead air. Take note of the station number (such as 92.3 or 101.7).

Step 5 - Adjust the station tuner on your iPod car tuner to match the station on your car stereo. This allows you to play music from your iPod, and have it sound like it is playing from the car radio.
